What is an onramp?


The aim of the ON RAMP is to expose you to the 9 fundamental movements used in CrossFit and to help you gain an understanding of how to complete the movements with good technique and efficiency. By teaching you the fundamentals from the outset, we can accelerate your results and avoid any injuries associated with bad form.  

The 9 fundamental movements of CrossFit are:

  1. The Squat

  2. The Front Squat

  3. The Overhead Squat

  4. The Press

  5. The Push Press

  6. The Push Jerk

  7. The Sumo Deadlift High Pull

  8. The Deadlift

  9. The Medicine Ball Clean

The on ramp course is also designed to help you familiarize yourself with our facilities, class structures and members. After all, we know how intimidating it can be stepping foot in a gym for the first time as a beginner, but it’s our responsibility to help guide you to the point where the gym becomes your second home. CrossFit Rotorua will become an extension of your family. Your gym whanau.

*If you are new to CrossFit, the onramp session is compulsory before you can begin taking part in classes.
