KAHA KREW – Heavy Barbell ‘Krew’
WHAT IS IT?
The Kaha Krew is a specialised weightlifting programme primarily focused on improving the major lifts associated with CrossFit. Traditionally, similar Olympic lifting clubs have a large emphasise on the Snatch and Clean & Jerk, Kaha Krew include all this as well as emphasis on squats, presses, gymnastics and plyometrics.
WHAT BENEFITS WILL I GAIN?
You will see improvements in strength and power, particularly in the lower body, speed, explosiveness and the ability to safely absorb force, as well as the obvious ninja benefits such as kick arse flexibility and pure awesomeness! You will also gain better coordination, joint strength, responsiveness and balance. The Oly lifts are the only lifts shown to increase maximum oxygen uptake to improve cardiovascular endurance.
CAN I JOIN AND ARE THERE ANY REQUIREMENTS?
Members and Non-members are welcome to join Kaha Krew. However you must crawl before you walk. Competence in the foundational movements is a good place to start. As the Kaha movements are at an Intermediate-Advanced level expressed in their full capacity under load, there will be some criteria that will need to be met. It is both the athlete’s and trainer’s responsibility to ensure adequate mobility and technique. It will be at the trainers discretion whether you are at the level required. Contact Us if you are interested.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
There is a price for the extra training. See Prices for more details.
WHEN ARE THESE CLASSES?
There are two KAHA classes per week on every Wednesday at 6.30pm and Saturday at 8am.
